What is UnlistMy.Info?
UnlistMy.Info is a website that provides detailed opt-out instructions for some of the top people search websites; such as Intelius,
White Pages, and US Search.
Are you a for-profit service?
Nope, we don't make a penny. It actually costs us to have the site up and running. Plus, we spend a lot of our free time responding to
emails, updating the site list, and maintaining the website.
Is UnlistMy.Info absolutely free?
Yes, it is completely free to use our website. Opting out of the sites on our Site List is free as well, however, some sites do require
that you mail or fax them information, so you will incur the occasional cost of a stamp or fax.
Does UnlistMy.Info collect or store any of my information?
Absolutely not; we do not collect or store any of your personal information.
You disclose your information, at your discretion, upon leaving our site and visiting the various opt-out pages. We recommend reviewing
each of the sites' Privacy Policies and opt-out procedures to determine exactly what they do with the information you provide.
Will UnlistMy.Info remove my information from these sites on my behalf?
Unfortunately, we do not have the time or the resources to remove your information on your behalf. There are a few good sites out there that
will remove information for you, but those cost money. We simply provide a free resource for those who are ambitious enough to take the time
to remove their own information from these sites.
I'm trying to opt-out of a site. Why do they want even more information than they already have?
We're not really sure, but most sites claim that it is for identity verification purposes. We understand, as you probably do as well, that
in only a few rare cases are people being unknowingly opted-out of websites by someone else. We personally think that it is used as a deterrent;
if people see it as too challenging a task, they will probably not try to opt-out.
If you feel like your privacy will be compromised in an attempt to eliminate your information from a site, we encourage you to review the
site's privacy policy to see exactly what they will do with your information. Or, you can always email the site's contact person--they will
be better able to explain the particular policy better than we can.
Why to I have to opt-out of each site? Why isn't there just one site to unlist my info?
Each of the sites that we list (with a few exceptions) have their own databases that store your information. Additionally,
they each require different information to be supplied on your behalf in order to remove your information.
